JAKARTA & BALI

In Jakarta Islamic cosmology societies pray 5 times a day. The first one, called the Fajr, is played in over 3,000 mosques all over the city starting at 4:30am. There are a few minutes difference between each mosque so every time the call to prayer is made, it becomes quite noisy.

Complaining about the noise is a criminal offence, it certainly kick starts your day - what an interesting city!

Bali is an amazing island with lots of animal diversity.

Monkeys are the protagonists of the island, with their own sanctuary in Ubud, attracting thousands of people every day; going in the Ubud Monkey Forest is an fun experience, but few rules need to be respected to not get attacked by them:

  • Do not feed or hide any food from them.

  • Do not run or panic if they try to attack you.

  • Look after your belongings (they’re great thieves!)

  • But most important, don’t look the monkeys in the eyes!

Bali is usually known for its unique cultures and temples.
But this small Indonesian island has a lot of natural beauty too,
with rice terraces, waterfalls, forests and mountains.
